Cybersecurity for High-Performance Computing (HPC) is an important topic as HPC infrastructure will be the workhorse for Smart Nation computational workloads such as modelling & simulation and digital twins. Traditional HPC infrastructure is set up differently from enterprise servers, and thus, it is important to understand Supercomputing and the appropriate security measures. This is aligned with the theme of SupercomputingAsia 2020, “HPC Empowering Intelligent Cities”. We are privileged to have thought leaders in cybersecurity to join us for this half-day afternoon session to provide their technical insights! This inaugural HPC Cybersecurity Workshop is organised by the Centre for Strategic Cyberspace + International Studies (CSCIS) and the National Supercomputing Centre Singapore and colocated with SupercomputingAsia 2020.
Join us for the exciting programme at 1:30pm. However, you are invited to join the SCA2020 Opening Ceremony at 9am, followed by lunch at 12.30pm. The programme will end with a lucky draw and a wine networking session*. For details of the exciting programme, please click here.
See you there!
* Lunch, tea-breaks and wine network session is only open to registered participants of the HPC Cybersecurity Workshop. Registration is on a first-come-first-served basis.
Join Dr Jay Jeong, researcher for Deakin University and the Cyber Security Cooperative Research
Centre
for an online discussion on exploring cyber security from an alternative perspective – a
socio-cultural one.
Topic: Human factors in cyber security
Every ten minutes, a new cyber security incident is reported (ACSC, 2019) and according to a study
by IBM and
the Cyber Security Intelligence Index, 95 percent of successful cyber security attacks and incidents
were because
of some type of human error.
Current research and case examples highlighting the importance of the human side of cyber security
will be shared
in this presentation with the aim of addressing the following questions:
Speaker: Dr Jay Jeong - Researcher, Deakin University and CyberCRC
Dr Jay Jeong is a researcher for Deakin University & the Cyber Security Cooperative Research Centre
(CyberCRC) exploring
next-generation Digital ID services and technologies. Prior to his current role, he was a Research
Fellow at Monash University,
investigating how a nations cyber security capability is influenced by socio-cultural factors. This
research was undertaken in
conjunction with the Oceania Cyber Security Centre (OCSC) and Oxford University.
